Similar species

The species can be confused with many other blue butterflies if one only observes it in flight. However, its high-altitude flight is often characteristic.

Distribution

Widespread but local throughout most of the country. Has been common in many areas for several years.

Biology

The species' larva feeds on many different plants. It is likely the blue butterfly that uses the most host plants in Denmark.
