Wall brown is common in Denmark. Wingspan: 35-44 mm. The flight period extends from late April to mid-October, in 3-4 generations. The species is found on dry, sandy grasslands, coastal slopes, along embankments and stone walls, and along field margins and gravel pits.

Identifying features
Wingspan: 35–44 mm. The upperside is ochre-coloured (reddish yellow), with brown markings along the veins.
Similar species
Wall brown can, particularly when in flight, be confused with the larger fritillaries.
Distribution
On Fanø, Djursland, many places have been found in East Jutland, Samsø, South Funen? On Zealand north of the line Korsør-Køge in coastal locations, on Amager, along the coast of East Falster, and on Bornholm.
Biology
Wall brown has three to four generations per year. It flies from early morning to late evening.
