Similar species

White admiral can be confused with Poplar Admiral, Map (f. prorsa), purple emperor, and lesser purple emperor.

Distribution

The species is widespread and common on Lolland, Falster, Møn, and Bornholm. More scattered in North Zealand and Odsherred.

Biology

The egg is laid on the underside of leaves of honeysuckle or fly honeysuckle. The larva overwinters wrapped in a leaf, which it spins together and attaches to the plant.
