Identifying features

Wingspan: 37–48 mm. The forewing tips are black to lead-grey, and this colour extends down the veins along the wing margin.

Similar species

Imago: Can be confused with the green year moth, green-banded moth, cabbage butterfly, as well as Black-veined White and orange tip females. 1.

Distribution

Green-veined white is common throughout Denmark.

Biology

Green-veined white is among the most common day butterflies in Denmark. The flight is calm, even in startled individuals.
